Dining Service Meal Plans
EKU Dining Meal Plans are designed for students, faculty, and staff with busy campus lifestyles. Between attending classes, studying and personal responsibilities, who has time to worry about cooking, cleaning, and shopping. Relax, we know how you feel and we have put together some meal plan options just for you. Our Meal Plans allow you to enjoy all the great dining privileges we have in store for you. With the wonders of technology, we transform your Colonel 1 Card into a dining card packed with unlimited buying potential and the ability to eat what you like, when you like. The plans consist of different features depending on your individual needs.
How can I sign up for my meal plan?
Log on to your EKU Direct account to sign up. Dining Services is located under the “Student Services & Financial Aid” tab.
Who is required to purchase a meal plan?
All residential freshmen are required to purchase a Residential Meal Plan until they have either completed thirty (30) hours or two long semesters (fall and spring). Default meal plan is the 150 Block Meal Plan.
What is included in my meal plan?
Block Meals
Pre-assigned number of block meals
Use at the Fresh Food Company (all-you-care-to-eat location) and
Stratton Cafe
Balances expires in the semester block meal is purchased
Non-refundable account
Block meals are available for use on the first day of classes
Meal Flex
Attached to a pre-packaged plan
Use at any University Dining Services location
Balances expires at the end of the spring semester
Non-refundable account
Meal Flex Dollars are available for use on the first day of classes
How many meal plans may I have?
A student may only sign up for one meal plan. However, a student may purchase a meal plan, and also have an Optional Flex account and a Colonel Cash account. The monies that are on these accounts may not be converted to another account.
What if I signed up for a meal plan and it is not showing up on my University Account yet?
EKU asses meal plans as soon as the prior semester has been completed. Therefore, if you sign up in the summer for your fall meal plan charges will show up on your University Account usually the first week of August. Should you sign up for your spring meal plan during the fall semester meal those charges will be applied to your University Account during the first week of January. .
How am I able to track my meal plan usage ?
Please log on to ManageMYID to track spending and add more money to your declining balance accounts Board meals and Flex Dollars will show up on a student's account prior to classes starting. However, these funds will not be available for use until the first day of class.
Should a student choose a meal plan, they must sign up everyone semester they want to receive one. The University does not automatically sign up students for a meal plan unless they are classified as a required student.
EKU Dining Services follows the same refund schedule, for full term, which is outlined by the University. EKU’s Colonel Compass lists all deadlines associated with each term.
